The Association of Natural Rubber Producing Countries (ANRPC) releases the Monthly NR Statistical Report, October 2024.
The snapshot of the recent trends of natural rubber (NR) are shown below :
Global natural rubber (NR) production up to the first months of the fourth quarter of 2024 reached 11.2 million tons rise 2.9% compared to the same period of previous year. Meanwhile, global NR demand reached 12.1 million tons, declined by 4.5% compared to the same period in 2023. During the fourth quarter of 2024, the NR market is predicted to experience supply disruption caused by Typhoon Yagi in China, continuing rain in parts of Thailand, and heavy rain in Sri Lanka.
Based on the performance and updates from ANRPC member countries, the outlook for global NR production is revised with an anticipated annual growth of 4.5% following an update from prediction on Ivory Coast production. Similarly, the global demand growth is revised to decline 0.2% in 2024 driven by forecast revision of China’s demand and Malaysia’s demand. Further details can be found in the report.
